Cade Teets is an aspiring Music Educator! He is currently studying Music Education at Texas State University and is in his upper level studies! Cade went to high school at Leander High School, where he graduated with 27 college credits, a 4.7230 GPA, 92nd out of 476 people in his class, and was named the LEEF STAR Student for Leander High School. At Texas State, Cade is a multiple time deans list student, accumulating over a 3.5 GPA, shaping himself to graduate Cum Laude!

While in high school, Cade was a section leader for the world renowned Leander High School Marching Band. During His time in high school he received a 1 at ALL of the UIL Solo and Ensemble regional competitions (2013-2017), was selected to perform at the state UIL Solo and Ensemble competition (2015), participated in the UIL Region audition process (2013-2017), performed many national anthems for school sports (2015-2017), and participated in the top ensemble. During his time as a leader in the marching band, they received a bronze medal at the UIL State marching contest (2015), won the BOA Austin Regional (2015). received a silver medal at the BOA Austin regional (2014, 2016), took home the bronze medal at BOA San Antonio (2014,2016), and were class AAA National Champion at BOA Grand Nationals (2016) and finished 6th place in the nation.

After High School, Cade has participated in the Bobcat Marching Band, Concert Band (principle trumpet in 2018), the Texas State Symphonic Winds, the Bobcat Basketball Band, and marched with the DCI Finalist Mandarins Drum and Bugles Corps (2019, 10th Place).

Cade has been acquiring exceptional teaching experience while in college. He spent the summer of 2018 with the Cedar Park Theater Company as the assistant musical director for The Boy Who Cried Wolf. This job entailed running full rehearsals, teaching and composing harmonies, and one-on-one work with high school students that had not had any previous music experience. In the Fall of 2019, Cade was brought on as a marching technician for the Leander High School Marching Band. This job included running rehearsals (section and ensemble), individual teaching for both music and visual performance, and running logistics on competition days. In the 2019 marching season, the Leander Band placed 2nd at BOA Austin, 4th at BOA San Antonio, won Class AAA national championship (swept all captions) and placed 5th place overall at the 2019 BOA Grand Nationals Championships. In 2020 and 2021, Cade was brought back on to the Leander Band Wind Staff, and is currently working again as a Marching Technician!

Cade Teets is stoked to continue his studies at Texas State University and can’t wait to gain more teaching experience. His ultimate goal is to impact the lives of his students for the better and motivate them to be the best they can be without fear of judgment!
